Jimmy Chen is Managing Partner of Amrop China and the Asia Pacific leader for the Global Energies Practice in The Amrop Group. He advises our key clients, leveraging his 25 years’ experience leading companies grow business values in Asia Pacific and China, to manage their businesses successfully via the right leadership team set up and executive appointments. Before Amrop Jimmy was Vice President of Aleris International, Inc., (a leading global producer of aluminum products). He was their regional leader responsible for developing and implementing strategic growth initiatives in Asia Pacific, in particular China. Prior to that Jimmy was Global Business VP, Static Control GBU and also VP/GM, Asia Pacific for Noveon, Inc. (previously B.F.Goodrich Specialty Chemicals and now Lubrizol). Earlier, he held senior management roles at Dow Chemical, including Global Business Director for Display Technology, Asia-Pacific Regional GM for DowAgroSciences, and M&A and business leadership positions for many Dow’s commodity and differentiated businesses. Jimmy shares with his local and MNC clients what it takes to succeed, or fail, in cross-cultural business and organization management – from market entry, greenfield, M&A, JV, infrastructure and team building or restructuring, to top level government relationship and negotiation – covering industries like chemicals, energies, personal care, agricultural, biotechnology, plastics, electronics, metal & recycling, packaging; and spanning across both the private and public sectors. His deep China, Asia and global exposure, coupled with his broad market and top management experience, allow him to use an advisory approach to help our most important clients and executive candidates make better decisions towards organization and career success. Jimmy holds a B.Sc. degree in Chemical Engineering from the University of Manchester and a Master's degree in Management/Technological Economics from the University of Stirling. He is married with two sons. |
